ISLO: New Brand Identity and Website
Background
ISLO, a city-owned center for sports education, physiotherapy, and affordable hostel accommodation in Joensuu, wanted to significantly develop its marketing efforts and bring in a fresh new look.
ISLO operates in many areas: it provides vocational education in the sports field, maintains a sports training center, and supports and develops regional sports and related services — often in collaboration with local sports clubs.


Objective
ISLO wanted to be seen and heard as a modern player and to position itself as a hub for sports and active living in Joensuu and Eastern Finland. ISLO’s wide range of target groups was a challenge — as was directing its diverse services to the right audiences.
Tovari’s Implementation
Tovari defined ISLO’s multiple target audiences and began developing a visual identity and website that could effectively and impactfully engage them all. The goal was to create a strong brand that supports all ISLO’s actions and branding — and stands out in a positive way.
The new identity was built around a logo, with the “O” element also serving as a categorization tool — different circle colors represent different services on the website. It was designed as a central visual element, forming the core of ISLO’s brand mark. The typography is modern and clear, adapting well to various channels and formats.
These elements are echoed across the website built by Tovari, creating a dynamic impression that matches the sports institute’s refreshed, future-oriented brand.
